Gowanus E-Waste Warehouse Residency

In the summer of 2018 I participated in a three month artist residency at the Gowanus E-Waste Recycling Warehouse, a facility run by the Lower East Side Ecology Center. The focus of my residency was taking the housings of discarded electronics and repurposing them into sculptural pots for flowers and plants. I am currently working on an ongoing series photographing these planters as still life scenes, offering a contemporary take on a genre which traditionally examines symbols of death, rebirth and the transience of life.
